Oak Harbor Soroptimists Learn About Anti-Trafficking Programs from REST Organization

Soroptimist International of Oak Harbor hosted an informative presentation by Julie McNamara-dahl, vice president of REST (Real Escape from the Sex Trade), who shared insights about their organization's work supporting survivors of sexual exploitation. The morning session included remote participation from REST staff members and a client who shared personal experiences and discussed potential partnership opportunities.

The presentation aligned with the Soroptimists' #SoroptimistsUpliftHER initiative, offering new perspectives on how the club can support REST's mission of providing pathways to freedom, safety, and hope for sexually exploited individuals. The session explored ways to expand educational and economic opportunities for the women served by REST's programs.

The Oak Harbor chapter continues its commitment to empowering women and girls through education and training for economic independence. Those interested in joining this global volunteer organization can learn more by contacting sioakharbor@soroptimist.net.
